Butt and Thigh Protection- I need your recommendations!

Need advice on what skates and pads to buy? Upgraded your skates/pads/wheels and want to sell the old ones? Want to let the new girls know they can borrow your sweaty old kneepads? This is the place.

Butt and Thigh Protection- I need your recommendations!

Post by PattiSwift »

So I was ready to buy some McDavid shorts, but alas they are now discontinued.

So I need recommendations for tailbone and thigh/hip protection shorts that aren't too bulky, but are still effective. Looking at forums online led me to these:

...not sure if anyone has tried/heard of them? They look a bit manly at the front, but they say they're womens shorts. Any recommendations desperately needed so I can finally get on to buying summat for my poor bony hips...

They are a bit more expensive than the mcdavids but Steaks! They harden on impact and are also compression which is beneficial. Otherwise the triple eight ones are ok but a bit bulky.

Would you have them in stock for me to try on sizes at double threat? It looks like they have protection/padding at the front too, is that right?

let me know and I'll pop by. They're all expensive I know! but I'd rather have something that definitely protects, so these could be the best fit.

I've had these (or something quite similar) and liked them:

You can take out all the pads individually and only leave the ones that you want.
But they are quite expensive.

They have hip, tailbone and leg padding - so full coverage haha.
We have some sizes in the shop at the moment (if you email someone in the shop can check what ones)- but they also have a handy sizing chart here: https://www.doublethreatskates.co.uk/pr ... protection
Plus you will get your LRG discount so it would be a little cheaper.
I fall in between two sizes and tend to go down as I prefer mine to fit super snug, this can require some acrobatics to get into them but it means they don't move around!
