Question about boot customisations

Need advice on what skates and pads to buy? Upgraded your skates/pads/wheels and want to sell the old ones? Want to let the new girls know they can borrow your sweaty old kneepads? This is the place.

Question about boot customisations

Post by Max Voltage »

Has anyone had an ankle strap added to their skates? I’ve been quoted £80 to get mine done
and was wondering if that seemed fair/normal? Maybe I should just get jam straps instead?
Anyone really love/hate/indifferent to their jam straps?

For the most part, even hand made skates are made on a productionn line of sorts. Adding customisations to them means someone taking teh parts of that boot off the production line and away from the normal manufacturing process to change/add parts. Which does tend to carry a significant customisation fee. Generally you will find if you want to add a second customisation (like a boot loop or a set back etelet or even colours) then it is cheaper after the initial charge.
